No. NEET is the entrance examination for admission to MBBS,BDS,Ayush and Veterinary Courses across India. And NEET is also mandatory to study MBBS/BDS even abroad. So just to answer your question, NEET is mandatory and is the only entrance examination in India to study MBBS. This is the norm in Government Medical Colleges, Private Medical Colleges, Deemed/Central Universities.

Yes,Ofcorse there are other exams to get seat in MBBS like Jipmer has its own entrance. AIIMS also has a separate entrance exam. All the other medical colleges even those under deemed and minority institutions come under neet.
AIIMS - The entrance examination will be held for admissions into the 7 AIIMS institutes across the nation.
JIPMER - This examination is conducted to admit eligible applicants into the JIPMER institute.
The NEET exam is used by these non-govt entities as a qualifying criteria. You need to be in top half of all the candidates taking the exam. So if 8,00,000 lakh are writing NEET you have to be in the first 4,00,000 to qualify in NEET. Based on the number of people who apply to a pvt medical college a higher NEET ranked candidate gets preference over a lower ranked one.
