NTA is organizing JEE Mains Exam this year. The JEE Mains exam is bein conducted in 2 phases this year. 1st phase was the January Phase and the upcoming phase is going to be held in april. Hope so you have filled the application form for the April JEE Mains exam. The JEE Mains Paper 1 will take place on 7th April and the paper 2 will be on 8th, 9th, 10th, 12th April.
Today JEE Mains admit card are also being issued and you can download it from the official website. Here's the link to download section of admt card:

So these were the exam dates you need to know about the JEE Mains April exam. Now good score in this exam will get you into the most prestigious colleges in India. If you get a good rank, you can get admissions to the National Institue of Technology , Indian Istitue of Information Technology etc.
Now coming to your question. Yes, you can get seats into top colleges by your board percentage. In almost all of the private colleges you can get admissions. Under management quota, they provide admissions into your preferred course. But the admisiion fee is high as compared to the fee of those colleges you get by good ranks in JEE Mains. But if you have scored a good score in 12th, then you will get appreciable fee concession. So getting a good board percentage will be very beneficial for you. Yes, there are many other good colleges apart form IIT-JEE.
There other state level goverment colleges like
COEP
in Pune Maharashtra,
College of engineering, Amrawati
Maharashtra. In most of the districts these colleges are available. To get admission in these goverment colleges you have to crack the state levet compitative exams like
CET.
As you do better in these you will get better college. These colleges also offers you monthly stipend for the PG level programs.
There are some private colleges who conduct their own enterence exams which is available on their websites. By attending these exams you can get admission in these colleges. These colleges also conduct campus interviews for the better placements after the course.
If you don't want to give any compitative exam then also you can get admission in some private colleges. Through their management cota. Just by visiting these these private colleges you will get the details about the admission.
