Firstly, talking about B.Tech courses in
NITs there is only one way to get
admission.you have to appear for JEE
(the MAINS part only for NITs and the
ADVANCE part for IITs) after your 12th
boards. You ave to clear the required cut
off set by the different NIT's to get
admitted in those colleges. Moreover you
would only get admission as per as your
rank and the number of vacant seats
available. So, getting more marks than
the required cut-off marks would ensure
you good possibility of getting admitted
in top NITS. And the admission process is
similar for all the branches in all the
NITS.
Now, talking about the M.Tech admission
process, here for the engineering
branches you need to give
GATE(Graduate Aptitude Test in
Engineering) and get good AIR to get
get admission in NITs. The competition is
preferably higher in M.Tech admission as
the number of seats is very much less as
compared to B.Tech. So you need o score as
much as you can to ensure a seat. Now, if
you want to get admitted in Science
branches in NITs then you have to apply
for JAM(Joint Admission Test) in your
preferred branch and get admitted
according to your choice.
And lastly speaking about Ph.D admission
here also for the engineering branches you
need to clear GATE and then appear for
interview to get admitted and after that
you can also appear for NET if you are
willing to be a professor in future. And for
the science branches you need to appear
for NET/SLET and qualify these and then
appear for interview for getting admission
in any NITs.
Hope it helps
