Heriye you a very valid question .Many students take admissions in B.Tech and then regret later when they do not get placement and jobs . Engineering is a good field and there are opportunities for right and hard working people .If you need a placement then companies come to campus recruitment in private and government colleges . They offer different different packages in different colleges .The average package maybe from (2 lakhs - 18 lakhs0 per annum depending upon knowledge and type of college.

There are obviously placements after which depend a lot on your college and your CGPA. Good colleges have almost 100 per cent placement records which a high average salary. It is important to choose a college wisely. The average salary and placement also vary from course to course. Usually, Computer Science graduates have better salaries than some other branches of engineering. 

Your CGPA of four years also plays a part in placement. You need to have a minimum cutoff CGPA to be able to be considered by companies for recruitment. CGPA does matter but it is not everything in the end you have to have knowledge and interest in your chosen branch which will be assessed by the employer who is there to give you a job.
