To be very frank it depends on how good engineer you are going to be .Reason is growth in number of engineering graduates every year, So to become a successful engineer you have to become a quality engineer, and to become a quality engineer,You should get admitted to a reputed College, which can provide you a quality education as well as it provides you a chance to get a good job to boost your career .So if you want to become an engineer first work hard to get a good institution which will help you to achieve your future career goals.

Hi Muhammed Shabeer,

There are a lot of people saying a lot of things about low salaries and other taboos but as per the actual survey a person who really wants to work as an engineer would eventually get a high salary.

The top branch which I would suggest is mechatronics because lets be frank that the whole worls is shifting inch by inch towards mordernisation and robots are the future of the world.

There are a lot branches one can choose but I would suggest that you should then do your PG and then go into robotics.

The core branch for this job is mechatronics and the other branches which merge into this field is-

  • Computer Science & Engineering/IT
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical & Electronics Engineering
  • Electronics & Communication Engineering

Pros and cons of each branch-

  • If you have a thought of Computer Science & Engineering/IT as best branch then I feel it is not. CSE/IT provides extremely competitive environment. Now-a-days, Everyone is interested in coding whether it is basic C or Java. So if you have faith in yourself and it is your passion (not because of the fact that CSE/IT gets highest package offer to this branch in almost all engineering colleges/ universities), you should go for it.
  • Mechanical Engineering is one is toughest of all branches. If you are interested in Robotics or How machines works, then this is your way to rule the world
  • Next is Electrical and Electronics Engineering , and it is a branch of science which deals with the applications of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism.

The reason I am suggesting you this field is-

  • BSc/MCA have saturated IT Sector(IT/Computers will also create eyesight problems throughout your life).
  • From the employment point of view, Mechatronics is better than Mechanical. (Mechatronics > Mechanical > Electronics (Electrical > EXTC > EI) > Comp > IT > Biotech > Biomedical).
  • Max initial salary of Mechatronics engineers can go beyond Rs 50kpm, whereas other engineers get Rs 35kpm max.

If you choose any other field, some pointers which might help you in excelling in that field-

  • If you are planning for GATE then you must take Electrical, Civil or Mechanical.
  • It doesn’t matter which field you choose, you have to dedicate yourself to fullest.
  • If you want to go abroad for high studies then you should look for GRE and TOEFL .
  • No matter what’s your branch is, Go for Internships and Projects. This builds up your skill of implementation of your theory classes. You can also do some personal projects which would make you more credible.
  • Join online courses and build up your basics or to improve your skills and knowledge.

So in my opinion I would suggest Mechatronics but if you choose any other courses then also one can do a lot better asat the end of the day one excels in the field they are interested in!! .

Cheers and best of luck for future!!

hello aspirant,

with the emergence of several public and private sector job opportunities in the engineering sector the education system of the country has evolved.

  • any engineering course has lot of scope and every branch in engineering offers good placements opportunities.
  • Engineering is design oriented subject.  design involves problem solving .
  • As the field of engineering incorporates new technologies ,the appropriate scope of under graduate education in engineering  continues to grow.
  • strictly speaking ,the field of engineering has more scope today i.e
  • computer science engineering:

  • computer science engineering graduates can make a career in areas like web applications, computer graphics,  scientific modelling, database systems, animation, artificial intelligence.
  • since, now a days every thing and the world is revolving under programming and yes human requires a good programming skills and hence the computer science stream is the answer behind this.
  • The average salary for an CSE graduate ranges from 10 lakhs to 30 lakhs per annum and hence it is creating a leading and highest pacakged salaries in india and in world too.
  • mechanical engineering:

  • mechanical engineering is one of the oldest branches of engineering and is also known as mother branch of engineering.
  • The job opportunities of an mechanical graduate is widely available across the globe.
in these sectors, there is a wide scope for an mechanical graduate

  • Thermal power industry
  • Automobile industry
  • Aviation
  • Aerospace industry
  • Gas turbines industry
  • Armed forces.
the average salary package for an mechanical engineer is ranging from 5-10 lakhs per annum and leading the top 4 engineering salaries in the field of engineering.

hope you understood,

thank you

Hii..

Engineering has scope only if You are from reputed college Like IIT or NIT. Every year 15lakh students get gets their degree but only few of them gets job.

If your stream is one of the core branch then you will never die hungry.

In these modern era there is a huge demand of CSE, also if you have your knowledge you can start your own startup.

Hope you get it

Hello Muhammed,

Engineering has always been an evergreen subject since time immemorial, and will always have some of the other branches which will always stay that way, for example, Mechanical engineering, civil engineering, computer science engineering, etc.

SO the scope would always be there as the need for these services will always be there.

Now to your second question, all the above-mentioned branches have a great scope. And you should apply to the one which you feel connected towards.
