Dear Aspirant,

We are in a world that is progressing in its way of civilisation, however the core shall always remain agriculture. With engineering studying the dynamic nature of the society, there is an urgent need to incorporate science, arts and occupational cultivation of the soil into a combined discipline that promotes crop rearing and high yield even in terms of the rearing of animals. This is where Agricultural engineering applies efficient technology for efficient production, food processing , fibre and fuel processing.

The subjects involved in this course are chemical engineering, plant biology, animal biology, mechanical engineering, civil engineering,

This field is known to be one of change both for an individuals life and even for the society. After doing a B.Tech in Agricultural engineering, many students prefer to do masters in the following:

a) M.Tech in Agricultural Engineering

b) PhD in Agri-informatics

c)M.Tech in Renewable Energy

d) M.Tech in Crop Production

e) M.Tech in Farm Machinery

f) PhD in Rural Technology

The engineers get employed for various jobs based on the extent of their qualifications. The government sector, the public sector organisation, the agribusiness firms, the retail industry, food processing . There is a lot of scope for research and work in laboratories too.

The following job titles are available for the engineer.

a) Agricultural Specialist/ Inspector/Crop Engineer

b) Microbiologist

c)Plant Physiologist

d) Agronomist

e) Soil Scientist

f) Survey Research Agricultural Engineer

Hope this helps ,All the best!

Dear
Trust me there is scope in every engineering if it is done properly. And if you are talking about Agricultural engineering then it is really a good sector because in India According to 2011 Agricultural Census of India, an estimated61.5% of the1300 millionIndian population is rural and dependent on agriculture. The number of farming households is 159.6 million. So there are still lots of people who require agricultural engineers to get better farming and soil solutions. After doing agriculture engineering you can provide a lots of agriculture solutions to these people and as you are looking at the population your product as well as solution will get a high market demand as per economic point of view.
So if a sector some less highlighted then other engineerings that doesn't mean it is any ware less than them. Even India require a lots of agriculture scientists and engineers.
Hope it helps :-)

Hello Aspirant, there is always a scope in each and every branch of Engineering, our life depends upon materials, tools, things we use and we require, knowledge of every branch is required to create the tools, as long as we live, we need to eat food, food can be created by farming, unless we stop eating, the scope of agricultural engineering wont lose, many new techniques of agriculture and technical trends like IOT have been embedded into farming to make it more prosperous, finally, Yes , there is always scope in Agricultural Engineering.

Thank you.
