hi,
diseases (especially dealing with Oncology, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Nephrology and Neurology); it is present and getting developed in India for the last ~50 years.
Many new centres and big hospitals are now investing in this branch just like radiology and they want nuclear medicine physicians to run their departments
Currently, very few institutes and seats are offering this course he demand will be good for a few future years
Work profiles can be divided as -
1. Govt hospital job
2. Private diagnostic centre / corporate hospital job
3. Own a private centre WITH MRI and CT SCANS.
4. Research institutes
Your salary and working life will be different with these categories and place of work e.g., a place like Mumbai has got a lesser salary as - centres and physicians interested are more compared to any 2nd tire city where you are the direct head of dept in ABROAD, it is somewhat difficult compared to radio diagnosis because in most of those counties as Nuclear Medicine is a super speciality of clinical radiology/ radiodiagnosis
The usual job profile will be similar to radio-diagnosis, 9–5 jobs mainly reporting different kinds of PET and SPECT scans
