Each law college has their own rules and regulations. Most of the colleges don't follow any particular dress code for every day. But all the colleges on specific occasions like Mooot courts, presentations etc follow the same dress code as is followed in the courts in India. White shirts and Black trousers. Or even white suits for girls. This is the same as is followed in various courts around India. And is also followed in various colleges on specific days

It depends on the college you are joining in and their rules and regulations. Some colleges have a very strict rule about wearing a particular uniform. Dress code is not something one should worry about. If you are stepping in to making of your professional career, Formals are one of the ways to make you feel that way.
Also its not that formals are always boring, it depends how you wear them. Actually the dress code plays a good role in developing unity and equality among the grown up professionals. Equality is the best quality that a person should maintain especially in case of lawyers.
