Hey there

Nowadays software is everywhere and companies need engineers who can work for them efficiently so if you want to move to software field even though you are from mechanical then you can learn stuffs like

1. Artificial intelligence

2. Machine learning

3. High level programming in java, python etc

4. Web design, graphics etc.

You can acquire these skills to go into software field.
