For decision to join in bachelor of arts (B.A) is great. Generally the admission process of B.A starts when the 12 board exam results are given. So some of the colleges don't even conduct entrance exams. If you wanna apply to them after some days they release a cut off list. It is based on your 12 board maeks, if you got good marks i.e above 950 or in range of 900's then you may get selected but some of the popular universities like Banaras Hindu university may conduct an entrance test. So if you wanna apply to these universities you may have to perform well in that test and also they may check your 12th results too.

So decision is yours!!
