Is there Entrance exam for m pharmacy?IF yes then what is thr criteria of selection?
Hello Sanjana,
Minimum Eligibility Criteria for the M.Pharm programme (MEC - PG2): 1. Candidates must hold a B.Pharm degree from a PCI and AICTE approved Institute. Candidates must have minimum 55% marks in average (50% for SC/ST) in graduation.
For getting admission in MPharm it is mandatory to appear for GPAT exam which is conducted by AICTE every year in the month of January. You should appear for this exam in your final year as it's score is valid for only one year.
AICTE decides marks for qualifying GPAT as per Caste. So if you get qualified then you receive a monthly stipend of Rs 12,400. If you don't get qualified then too you can take admission for MPharm but will not get a stipend.
There is one more exam NIPER which can be given by those candidates who are qualified in GPAT. By qualifying NIPER entrance you will get admission in NIPER institutes which are famous in Pharmacy.
Some other exams too are there which are institute level i.e for getting admission in that institute or university. Like NMIMS has its entrance for MPharm. Manipal University has its entrance.
Good luck!
