To get top notch colleges(B.Tech or B.E), you need to give JEE MAINS and JEE ADVANCE exams. Also many private colleges conduct their private entrance exams like VITEEE, BITSAT. Their are state entrance exams like MHCET, KCET, WBJEE. Some Universities also give admission through 10+2 marks. This year, VITEEE and SRMJEE stands cancel due to COVID-19 situations and admissions are done on the basis of 10+2 grade.

To get a seat in M.B.B.S., you need to give NEET-UG and the admissions are done according to NEET-UG marks.

Other than this, most of the UG courses are based on the merit in 10+2 grade.

Obviously there are Entrance exams to get into an UG Course if you are opting for Medical or Engineering. Also many reputed B.A , B.sc College,Universities have their own Entrance exams. But these year the situation is quite different. Due to Covid conditions many colleges have cancelled their Entrance exams and are taking admission based on the 12th Boards marks or January JEE-MAINS examination. For example VITEEE , SRMJEE is cancelled due to covid and admission will on 12th grades. BITSAT and JEE-MAINS is postponed.

Yes there are many exams for UG courses, for example NEET, JEE, BITSAT, SRMJEEE, COMEDK, etc.

These are for Engineering and Medical fields.

For commerce fields and arts fields, the admission is purely based on your Class 12th score and your interview.

Sometimes individual institutes may carry out an aptitude test to give admission as well.
