Dear student, the proposal of lateral entry to MBBS has yet been proposed and not sanctioned by the government of India. So for the current year students, if they choose BDS they cannot shift to MBBS and if they choose MBBS they cannot shift to BDS. This can only happen if the bill is sanctioned by the Parliament and President of India

The bridge courses are still at the discussion stages. At this point in time, nothing is concrete. The Dental Council of India has sent a proposal to Medical Council of India for bridge course so as to reduce the shortage of doctors in India. The Board of Directors appointed in supersession of MCI has informed that the curriculum in the first 2 years of MBBS and BDS is not similar.
