Hello Shreyash, EWS category has a 10% reservation in various State and Govt Colleges and Institutes definitely enjoys a certaine relaxation in cutoff marks required for admission to the various Colleges and Institutes. EWS category cutoff is often lower if not equivalent to the OBC cutoff. Socially and economically backward Students coming from SC/ST/PH background or whose family income is lower than Rs 1 Lakh gets full tuition fee subsidy/remission in IITS and NITs , if family income is less than Rs. 5 Lakhs like in the case of EWS students, they can get a 2/3 fee remission.

EWS takes its cut from General Category. And so it has lesser cut offs than General Category. There will be no change in the fees structure. For now its only the marks that have been reduced. Fees remains the same.
