ABOUT TANCET

Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is a state-level examination, conducted by Anna University for the admission to post-graduation programmes like M.Tech, MBA, MCA and M.Arch in various colleges/institutes of Tamil Nadu.

To get admission through TANCET 2019, candidates have to appear for a written test which will be conducted in offline mode at various centers across Tamil Nadu.

• Application forms for Tancet 2019 will be available from 02 April, 2019 (tentative). Mode of application will be online.
• Tancet M.Tech exam will be held on 20 May, 2019 (tentative). Mode of writing the exam will be offline.
• Tancet 2019 Application fees for GENERAL/OBC category is Rs.500/- and for SC/ST category is Rs.250/-.
• The hall ticket/admit card of TANCET 2019 is released in online mode and it can be downloaded from the official website of Anna University.
• To download the admit card/hall ticket, candidates have to enter their user ID and password that was generated during the registration process.

TANCET 2019 M.TECH ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

The eligibility criteria for TANCET M.Tech is decided by Anna University. Candidates applying for TANCET M.Tech 2019 must have any of the following degrees to appear in the exam,

a) Master’s Degree in the relevant branch of Science as prescribed or

b) B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch or

Also, candidates with 10+3 years of Diploma and Associate Member of Institution of Engineers (AMIE), (Awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) can apply for TANCET M.Tech M.Arch or 10+2 and AMIE degree.

Candidates who have qualified GATE are also eligible to apply for TANCET and they do not need to write the entrance exam. However, GATE Engineer Science (XE) and Life Science (XL) qualified candidates have to appear for TANCET 2019 exams.

• Hall ticket/admit card
• Any one valid ID card - Aadhaar card, voter ID Card, PAN card, Passbook

The result of TANCET 2019 is expected to be declared in the second week of June. Marksheet will also be released 10 days after the declaration of result. Candidates can download the result and marksheet by entering their login credentials and they can check their marks as well as rank secured in TANCET 2019. All the selected candidates have to show this marksheet at the time of admission.

Dear Thansiya, TANCET is the entrance examination for admission into MBA, MCA, M.E, M.Tech, M.Arch and M.Plan programmes affliated with Anna University. M.Tech in Food Trchnology is also a course offered in Anna University and so TANCET also is for admissions in M.Tech in Food Technology. TANCET is scheduled for May 19th and May 20th in offline mode. The online applicatioms will be available online at their official website at annauniv.edu tentatively from the first week of April. Keep an eye on the official website for official notification.
