is uit burdwan a govt college?if yes then why the fees is so high as compared to other govt colleges?
Hii,Yes it is a govt college. You see, it depends on your needs. Getting on to the pros later.
If you're looking for a decent job after college (provided by the same) then sorry this ain't your place. Placement sucks.
Infrastructure and Management SUCKS.
There are lot of problems between Burdwan University and UIT.
College ground nearly sucks.
No such sporting events. There is NSS though.
Students are trying to build the college to it's early glory days by organizing many events, but the college doesn't poke it's nose at all.
The principal is…well, the teachers are frustrated with him (one of them did say to us on our very first semester!). Idk about internship facilities but I've heard they suck too.
Pros are a few.
You get a government degree, from the University. All the teachers are friendly (very few exceptions mustn't be considered in any case). If you're not a very hardworking and talented person to get into JU or the rest, but money is a factor for you, then you may consider this college (The semester fee as of now is 27050 which is kinda half of the pvt ones in WB) because FEW teachers ARE good.
The semester questions (70-80% questions) repeat themselves every alternate year. However it varies from teacher to teacher. A testimony for the same are the lots of Back papers that are awarded every year.
There is no ragging (in college, you moron. No hostel is free of that).
The library isn't too bad also.
This place, if not the best, isn't that bad for getting a just the degree(not the job, sorry). It is definitely better than most pvt colleges that just have a very, very fake image (TRUST ME, once you get in, you know).
Oh, you get to eat the traditional sitabhog mihidana :-P
In the end, it's your knowledge and you, that matters the most. Most colleges hardly make a dent on those, if you're serious enough!
On a job basis, way companies would look at you wouldn’t be much different from JU students, only, however, if you have your requisite knowledge :)
