Government aided college doesn't mean it is a government college. It just means it gets funds from the government.Vinayak Ganesh Vaze college is named after its founder and is run by kelkar private trust and it is a mumbai university affiliated college and has been granted autonomous from the academic year 2020-21.

VG vaze college Mumbai has a private ownership, and not government, the college has accredited A grade from NAAC, it was established in the year 1984, the college offers approximately 38 courses, some of them are Bcom, BSc botany, BSc Chemistry, BSc mathematics, BSc Physics, Bsc Zoology, Bcom baking and insurance self finance, Bsc information technology self finance, BMM self finance, BMS self finance, Mcom accountancy self finance etc.
