VIT, Mumbai is a private college and is generally pretty well regarded by candidates. Some basic info:
total B.tech Fees - around 6 lacs Rs.
placements - naturally, CSE students have more options. The average package last year was around 4 lacs per annum and the highest offered was around 25 lacs per annum. the major recruiters are TCS, CapGemini, LTI, etc
Infrastructure: Really good, quit artistic, actually.
Student culture- the students body is pretty active with many teams participating in competitions all over India and plenty of chances to do research work with professors and seniors.
academics- D ecent. the teachers are great and the pass ratio is around 65% which is good.

The faculty are really helpful. Curriculum and Academics are also good. VIT has proper facilities for everything. They also provide game room, Stationery shop and Xerox center.
The students are provided with great industrial exposure with many internships and industrial visits. The college has many contacts in various companies so they all get a good exposure from their point of view as well.
