No, rankings are definitely not fake of this exam. It's an entrance exam which is given by thousands of students and VIT is a reputable institute. I don't know why do you think that rankings are fake but they aren't for sure. You will be ranked on the basis of your score in the exam. Cut off changes every year due to variety of factors like difficulty of exam and number of applications but that doesn't mean rankings are random.
Don't worry about it at all. Prepare well for the exam.
