I would like to inform you that General knowledge is never asked in CAT exam but it is relevant for the Group discussion and Personal interview round (GD/PI) and you are planning to take up other entrance exams also along with the CAT like (IIFT/SNAP/XAT) then make sure you are prepared for GK as well
I would personally advice you start preparing for GK portion as well because you will have to face the questions related to it in future .

Please note that there is no General Knowledge section in CAT exam. The syllabus of CAT is as follows:-
- Quantitative Ability
- Verbal reasoning
- Data interpretation
- Comprehension
- Logical Reasoning
