Dear student,

No, its not necessary to be an IItian or to be studied from IIT to become an astronaut. For becoming an astronaut, You are required to be an engineer or a scientist with a Pilot license and flying experience to be an astronaut . And that can be done from any collegewhich provide the course in aviation, etc. Also your can crack the gate exam, to get a good psu like ISRO and if you want to get NASA, then also you can join after getting enough experience. And you can be selected as an astronaut too.

Hi Aspirant,

That's not necessary if you pursue your dream properly then no one can stop you from being an astronaut. However Passing out from IIT will help you to get surfaced to international as well as national institute and scopes which will help you further. To join ISRO from which ever college you study you need to appear for the entrance test for individual organisation. So try to get some renowned college and study hard!!'

Hope it helps!!
