It's the admission season now and the most number of claims, wrong claims are also made during this time where colleges advertise for 100% placement. What is the role of the regulator? Is there some kind of regulation for them?

We need to really understand the education system in this country. we have central universities, state universities, private institutions, etc. What really happens is, UGC University Grants Commission also has regulations to curb these kinds of practices. So we need to understand these backgrounds. Infact, UGC in 2019 made regulations called redressal grievances of students. There are several provisions in that. Therefore in a larger generic space of calling UGC a regulator they have already  provisions in place and provisions have several parts to it such as setting up a college students grievance committee at a university level, another grievance committee at the institution level, the department level. So there are rules, there are systems in place and there are grievance cells they are addressed through this process and it could be admissions, it could be related to anything. So my view is parents and students should go through the provisions that are available.
