I've done 12th from NIOS board. now I've been selected in Jawaharlal Nehru University Delhi JNU in BA hons. they requires character certificate, but NIOS board doesn't issue character certificate at all. from where else I can get character certificate? pls suggest!

Hello Student,
Any citizen is eligible to apply for and payment needs to be done for this. Your records shall be investigated and the government will issue the certificate in about 10-12 working days. You can download the certificate available in the online portal.
Maharashtra Government, Assam Government etc. has their own website for issuing character certificate online. You can choose as per your reliability and requirements.
A institution, Government authority or an individual station issues character certificate as alegal document indicating that an individual does not have any court cases or criminal record in their name or bad record.

Only Police record verification and Group A gazetted officer can attest Character certificate.
