I've done my 12th this year, and I want to go for NDA exam. So my question is can I take a gap of a year?

Yes you can take a gap of a year to prepare for the NDA exam.
The eligibility criteria for the NDA exam is:
Nationality:
- He must be a citizen of India
- a subject of Nepal, or
- a subject of Bhutan, or
- a Tibetan refugee, who came to India before 1 August, 1962 with the purpose of permanently settling in India, or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries of Malawi, Kenya, Uganda, Zaire, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Ethiopia or Vietnam with the purpose of permanently settling in India.
Age: The candidate's age must be between 16.5 years to 19.5 years
Educational Qualification:
The candidate must have passed 10+2 or must be in the final year of 10+2.
Marital status: The candidate must be an unmarried male.
The candidate must also be physically and mentally fit.
So you can definitely take a gap provided that you fulfill all the above criteria especially the age.

Yes. You can appear for NDA until you are 23 of age. Moreover the other requirement is only passing 12th.
