Dear Hardik,
The answer to your question is yes definately youe should give the CAT exam. Your 10th score is a bit on lower side but that can easily be covered by a good CAT percentile. Also you will get academic diverity points in almost each college which will improve your chances a lot.
I have personally seen people in IIMs with such profiles. So just go for it.
Definitely you should.
There comes a time in ones life after which Jobs seem monotonous and you need a way out for better packages or Career thrills.
So in both the cases you should go for Mba.
Besides you have workex, formidable past scores and a degree that goes with Mba.
So apply For CAT Xat nmat cmat snap tiss iift etc. Dont backup the future is quite different after you come out of a reputed Bschool.
All the best.

Hello Hardik
Glad to tell you that you are absolutely eligible to apply for CAT exams. Moreover B.Com plus MBA is very much required for industry. And you have work experience too which will add value while doing your management.
If you want to take exam this year end then start rigours practice and take online test as much as possible. Apart from CAT you can apply for NMAT, SNAP and CMAT as well. Because there are plethora of colleges which has left IIM to the back seat in the position list.
For more queries you can write to us.
Thanks.
Your academic profile is on the lower side. But that doesnt mean that you shouldnt apply for CAT. Your past scores may effect your chances partially but if you work hard and increase your knowledge level, then you can definately get into a good Business School. Believe in yourself and target colleges like IIFT, MDI, NITIE,FMS ,NMIMS which give lower weightage to your past academics.Good Luck!
Hi Hardik. To help you solve your dilemma, I'd like to put forth a couple of questions to you.
In case you decide in favour of giving CAT, try to score as much as possible so as to make up for your low scores in 10th. Also, be prepared to explain the interviewers the reason behind your low 10th marks. Don't worry, just be honest, and it'll all go well. You just need to be mentally prepared for facing such questions.
And don't think you have any less chance of making it to a top bschool than other people with good academics. Academics are important, but it's not the only thing that's important. Work hard, work smart, and make it happen.
All the best!
Pragya (IIM Jammu PGP 2018-20)
