Hello Aspirant,
If you are interested in doing a Ph.D. in biological science I.e., Zoology or botany then I would recommend that you should first finalize in which topic or domain you want to do it. For example, there are various subjects like general zoology, marine zoology, genetics, evolution, plant physiology or anatomy, biotech, microbiology, biochemistry, etc.
As you can see biotech, microbiology is nothing but domains of botany and zoology. Biotech deals DNA manipulation of microorganisms. Microbiology extensively deals with microorganisms.
So taking up these subjects won't have any effect on your master's degree dreams.
B.Sc ( Life Sciences) syllabus includes largely botany, zoology, and chemistry subjects.
If you want to have broad knowledge about zoology and botany you can opt for one of these courses but if you want to opt for specific domains of zoology or botany you can opt for either biotech or microbiology.
I hope this helps.
Thank you
