Established in the year 1969 and named after India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, Jawaharlal Nehru University is a public central university located in New Delhi, India. The university is famous for its impact on research on liberal arts and applied sciences.
The School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies (SLL&CS) was established in the year 1969 and has made its place as one of the renowned institutions in the field of language, literature and cultural studies. It is the only school of study offering a bachelor's degree (B.A.) in the university.
SLL&CS has twelve centres:

- Centre for French and Francophone Studies (CFFS)

The minimum eligibility criteria for admission into this prestigious university for:
B.A (Hons.): Candidate must have passed Senior School (10+2) with a minimum of 45% marks.
M.A: Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline under the 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 45% marks (50% in the case of English, German, Linguistics) with adequate proficiency in the concerned language.
M.Phil./Ph.D. or Pre-Ph.D./Ph.D. : Candidate is required to have a Master's degree in the concerned language/subject with at least 50% marks.
