Hello there
I want to tell you that joint entrance examination (JEE) which comprises of two stages mains and advance is conducted by National testing agency (NTA) for the admission of various technical undergraduate courses including engineering architecture and planning across whole India.
If you will apply for this exam then after giving your mains exam which is the first stage then if you qualify it and get good score in mains then you can take admission in NIT according to your merit list from top to bottom colleges and for taking admission in IIT you must have to qualify the second stage which is advance.
Now coming to your question which is that which course is best for engineering then all the courses are best in its own domain but student mostly prefer the courses like computer science and engineering, Chemical Engineering ,electrical engineering and some other too. Now if you will score better than you would be getting the course according to your preference list otherwise you will be getting some courses which have low cutoffs. So this is the basic criteria of the course division according to the marks you have scored.
