This year there is slight change in the exam pattern for jee mains.
- This year the jee mains will be conducted in 4 sessions viz february, March, April and may.
- The exam will be of total 300 marks.
- The jee mains exam will have a total of 90 questions, 25 each from from Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. And you have to attempt only 75 questions.
- Each subject will have 20 Multiple choice questions and 10 numerical questions ( +4 for correct and -1 for wrong answer ). Out of these 10 numerical questions you can attempts any five numerical answer question in each subject.
- And the numerical questions will have no negative markings.
- Also jee mains will be held in 13 different regional languages.

The exam question pattern of JEE Main 2021 is as follows:-
- Mathematics - 30 questions (20 MCQs + 10 numerical value)- 25 required to answer
- Physics - 30 questions (20 MCQs + 10 numerical value)- 25 required to answer
- Chemistry - 30 questions (20 MCQs + 10 numerical value)- 25 required to answer
Total - 90 Questions (75 questions mandatory) = 300 marks.

PAPER -1 examination pattern
In your JEE Mains 2021 examination paper 1 , there will be a total of 90 question, out of which 75 questions are to be attempted
And these questions are from three sections/subjects :-
* 30 questions are from physics
* 30 questions are from Chemistry
* 30 questions are from maths
Out of 30 questions in each subject ,20 questions are MCQs and rest 10 questions are questions with numerical value as the answer , out of which only 5 questions are to be attempted.
So, out of 30 questions in each subject only 25 questions are to be attempted, so in total 25 x 3 = 75 questions out of 90 questions are to be attempted.
Each question carries 4 marks
Exam is conducted for a total of
= 75 x 4
= 300 marks
Marking scheme
*four marks is awarded for your every correct answer
* 1 mark in deducted for your every wrong answer MCQs
* no marks is deducted for your wrong answer in case of numerical value question
