JEE main is conducted twice in a year where as jee advance is conducted only once in a year. nearly about top 2.5 lakh of students are selected for JEE advanced. My question is How these students are selected from 2 Jee main tests for a single jee advanced ?

There are cutoff marks for different categories to opt for JEE Advanced. Candidates need to clear the cutoff percentile to sit for JEE Advanced. However if a candidate appears in both the session of JEE Main, the best score between the two sessions, is considered for final JEE Main result. If the candidate clears the cutoff in final result, he or she may opt for JEE Advanced. Candidate may opt for just one session of JEE Main too, that means it is not compulsory to appear in both session.
Hope you understand. Good luck.
