JEE Main Exam Pattern 2021 - NTA has released a revised JEE Main 2021 exam pattern along with the brochure. The exam pattern of JEE Main contains paper 1 pattern for B.Tech and JEE Paper 2 pattern for B. Arch and B. Planning.
As per JEE Main exam pattern 2021, each subject will have 20 MCQs and 10 Numerical Value Questions and out of 10 only 5 have to be done. According to the JEE Main 2021 exam pattern, both the papers will be conducted in online mode except for the Drawing test for B.Arch. NTA JEE Main 2021 paper pattern contains details like JEE Main 2021 examination mode, number of sections, number of questions, type of questions, JEE Main 2021 marking scheme, etc. of the exam.
What's New?
- As per the latest JEE Main 2021 exam pattern, paper 1 will have a total of 90 questions, 25 each from Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. Candidates have to attempt only 75 questions.
- Each subject will have 20 MCQs and 10 numerical questions. 5 out of 10 numerical questions are optional.
- Numerical questions don't have negative marking.
- JEE Main 2021 for paper 1 (B.Tech) will be conducted for 300 marks, while paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Plan) will be conducted separately for 400 marks each.
- Now, JEE Main 2021 will be held in 13 languages.

JEE Main 2021 examination pattern for both paper 1 and Paper 2 is provided below
PAPER -1 ( for BE / B. Tech)
In your JEE Mains 2021 examination paper 1 , there will be a total of 90 question, out of which 75 questions are to be attempted
And these questions are from three subjects :-
* 30 questions from physics.
* 30 questions from Chemistry .
* 30 questions from maths.
The 30 questions in each Subject, will be divided into two sections -
*Section A :- A Section will contain 20 MCQs or multiple-choice questions. Four options will be there out of which one will be correct . And you have to choose the correct option.
* Section B :- it will contain 10 questions whose answer is a numerical value , no options will be there , you need to enter or type your answer i. e numerical value .You have to attempt only 5 questions out of the total 10 numerical value questions .
So, out of 30 questions in each subject only 25 questions are to be attempted, so in total 25 x 3 = 75 questions out of 90 questions are to be attempted.
Each question carries 4 marks
Exam is conducted for a total of
= 75 x 4
= 300 marks
Marking scheme :-
*four marks will be awarded for your every correct answer
* 1 mark will be deducted for your every wrong answer in case of section A /MCQs
* no marks will be deducted for your wrong answer in case of in case of section B/numerical value question
PAPER -2
B.Arch
*Exam will be conducted for a total of 400 marks
*there will be a total of 82 questions
There will be 3 sections
*Mathematics
There will be a total of 30 questions in mathematics. 20 Questions will be MCQs and rest 10 questions will be questions with numerical value as the answer , out of which only 5 questions are to be attempted.
*Aptitude
50 MCQs will be there
*Drawing
2 questions will be there
B.Planning
*Exam will be conducted for a total of 400 marks
*there will be a total of 105 questions
There will be 3 sections
*Mathematics
There will be a total of 30 questions in mathematics. 20 Questions will be MCQs and rest 10 questions will be questions with numerical value as the answer , out of which only 5 questions are to be attempted.
*Aptitude
50 MCQs will be there
*Planning
25 MCQs will be there
