From my view point NIT Patna will be the best one.... It's cutoff was 16k last year but according to my prediction you will get into it.

Best of luck for ahead

Thank you.

As your JEE main rank is 17k and assuming this is your general rank , then you would not get cs in tip NIT's like suratkal, tirchy , Warangal , Allahabad, Jaipur , Surat , Rourkela, etc.

If you want only cs or IT then you can join NIT's like NIT Agartala, Silchar ,North eastern  NIT'S  . You can also opt for private college's like VIT , LNMIT JAIPUR ( good college for IT ).

Another option is that you can take non IT branches like ECE in NIT Durgapur ,etc.

Hope it helps!

All the best for your future.

It depends on person to person , but college also matters a lot. If you get in decent college with decent branch, you have two options try to slide branch in cs by scoring good cgpa in 1st yr ( it's difficult )
Other is you can practice coding and make your career in IT Sector.
Good college will give you platform where you can grow.
