No it is not necessary until and unless you want to join any government institute like NIT's, IIT's or any college considering JEE marks.

You can freely opt out for JEE or NATA exam as there are various other entrance exam's out there conducted by various institutes like VITEEE, SRMJEE, Manipal Entrance, LPUEE, Amritha Entrance exam, West Bengal JEE, OJEE, etc.

Hello,
It depends on the college you are seeking admission. For admission in IITs/NITs/GFTIs offering architecture/planning course in UG level you need to appear in JEE main paper 2. There are other colleges which accepts NATA score as well as JEE main Paper 2 score. So it is necessary to appear in the exam accordingly.
