josaa counselling process and method

Joint Seat Allocation Authority(JoSAA) is a process of counseling and seat allotment which will be online mode. It conducts two mock rounds which is followed by seven rounds of counseling.
Admissions of NITs,IIITs and GFTIs is through josaa counseling that based on the JEE Main score. And the state counseling is conducted by its state authority.
Procedure of JoSAA :-
- Registration : first candidates have to register in the JoSAA counseling through web portal josaa.nic.in
- Choice Filling & locking: candidates have to lock their colleges preferences and B.tech courses and the seat will be allocated according to it.
- Seat Allotment process:- The candidates will be allocated the seats based on the availability of seats, preferences and merit of the candidates.
- Fee payment & seat acceptance : after the completion of seat allotment process, candidates will have to select any one of the following options.
- Float
- Freeze
- Slide
- Withdraw

Josaa that means joint seat allocation authority which is governed by Human Resource Development of government of India deals with the seat allocation of its territory of 107 institutes for admission.
The process of counselling and method is to confirm one candidates name, nationality ,state codeof eligibility and residential address.in time of form fill up process on online method.
Then to upload all these document in a confirmway and to pay the fees on online method

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority will soon start the JoSAA counselling on their official website. Registration needs to be completed by 15th October. The seat allotments will be done through JoSAA counselling in six rounds on the basis of merit ordered ranks in JEE Mains and JEE Advanced.

JoSAA counsellling takes place as follows:-
- Registration of candidates who have given JEE Main 2020 Examination.
- Then, there is filling of choices of Institutes and branches in decreasing order of candidate's preference.
- Candidates MUST “lock” their choices.
- JoSAA will conduct seven rounds of seat allocation for academic programs offered by Institutes under JoSAA 2020.
- Candidates allotted a seat must pay the seat acceptance fee for provisional seat booking.
- A candidate is required to fill option for ‘freeze’, ‘slide’ or ‘float’ the choice of academic program.
- Candidates who had already accepted a seat, can withdraw the seat by reporting at a reporting center up to sixth round of seat allocation.
