The Jharkhand State Open School (JSOS) is not a registered institution and there are some tensions over the validity of its certificates. There was also an issue with the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad Court which had said in its statement that the certificates from JSOS cannot be used to apply for DR APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University which cancelled the admissions of 371 JSOS certified students.
