To be honest, cut offs do not depend on natural calamities or other emotional factors. Cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. And yes to an extent the no.of seats available also play a role in the Cut offs. If there are more seats available. the cut offs decrease and vice versa. 15% of the seas of All Government Medical College are filled through All India Counseling. That means approximately 235 Colleges contribute to All India Counselling barring the GMCs in Jammu and Kashmir as Jammu and Kashmir doesnt participate in All India Counselling. All the 15% of All India Quota Seats except for Jammu and Kashmir, 100% Seats at Deemed and Central Universities, IP Quota seats in ESIC Colleges, Seats at AFMC, AIIMS and JIPMER are filled by DGHS. So if we only have to speak about GMCs and not other seats, for General Category, a rough cut off of 600 and above is required. This again changes from College to College. For few Colleges, it starts even at 615 and so even 600 might be lesser. So it is apt to say 615 and above. But if you have a particular college in mind, please do let us know and we shall help you with relevant information because we cannot generalise onbehalf of 230 GMCs.
Hello Aspirant,
As NEET is conducted every year for admission to various Undergraduate courses like MBBS, BAMS, BHMS and so on, and the cut-off is also different for different courses.
See this lockdown will not have any major impact on the cut-offs for this year for any medical college. Cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors like number of candidates appearing for exam, availability of seats and so on.
To qualify NEET 2020 you should clear the qualifying cut-off decided by National Testing Agency which is 50 percentile for General category, 45 percentile for Gen-PH and 40 percentile for other categories.
But note that above qualifying cut-off is only going to make you eligible for admissions through NEET but if you want cut-off marks for government medical colleges than it varies according to the college, roughly it is around 600 marks. But if you want for any particular college than please help us out with the name of college.
