KINDLY ADVICE ME ON B SCHOOL SELECTION WRT TO MY PROFILE
Hi Vivek ,
Looking at your experience it is not suggested to wait for another year for getting into PGDM but you can get into Executive PGP programs which are designed for expereinced professionals by a few IIMs including IIM Kozhikode.Coming to your CAT score this year , you did not cross the cut off in your DI LR section so you may not receive a call from any IIMs although your overall score crossed the cut off. I suggest you to get into Executive PGP programs next year.
1. Every colleges set some score for academic and work experience , you have good score in 10th and 12th,and in your grad it is average. And little benefit you have is you belong to NC- OBC, so you might get decent college this year also. And you have work exp that will also boost your profile.
So you can also apply for other private decent colleges, and get your dream of MBA fulfilled.
2. Seeing all the factors there is slight possibility you may get a call from new IIM's . So don't lose hope, but it might be problematic as you don't have good sectional cutoff.
3 Regarding your concern for placement, might be a 50-50 it will depend on the company, you are B.tech grad so you are new to marketing, finance etc. But you have experience in technical side for 44 months they may assume you are good at technical and not hire you or may hire depending on your Bschool performance but meanwhile age is what will matter because moulding a young is easy then an adult.
if you only wish to go for IIM then either be so sure that next year you will perform extremely well by performing good in every section because at this age you might be aware of your ability. Then only your drop of a year will be worth. If. Not so sure go for other colleges or find yourself a new job.
