To get information about the rankings of top engineering colleges of our country, I would suggest to go by NIRF rankings being released by MHRD every year.Although the rankings are not done on the basis of govt or private colleges, but I have selected the private colleges from the list ,which admit students on the basis of JEE mains score and put them below.

1) TIET ( Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology) located in Patiala, Punjab. It is a deemed university established in 1956 offering B.Tech. in  Chemical,Civil, Computer, Electrical,Electronics and Communication,Electronics and Instrumentation,Mechanical,Production and Biotechnology courses. One has to score at least 72 marks in JEE with 60% in boards to get admission. Regarding placements, average package for COE & ECE is 6-7 lakhs , for other branches it is 4-5 lakhs.Companies like TCS,Infosys,Amazon,L&T,Honda,Maruti visit campus.

2)BIT MESRA(Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra/Ranchi) located in Ranchi, Jharkhand.It is also a deemed university established in 1955. It has 21 academic departments to boast about. Minimum 140 marks are required in JEE to get here and the average package offered is 6-7 lakhs and highest being 27 lakhs.

3) IIIT Bangalore (International Institute of Information Technology) offers integrated M.Tech. programmes in CSE and ECE. The JEE mains cut off are 182 and 170 respectively. Average placement here is 13-14 lakhs & highest is 30 lakhs.Mostly product companies visit the campus.

4) JIIT( Jaypee Institute of Information Technology ) located in Noida, Delhi-NCR region offers B.Tech. courses in Computer, Electronics and Biotechnology streams. With JEE score below 120 marks it is difficult to get admission.Here companies like Amazon,Wipro,SAP labs,Deloitte come to recruit with average package offered is 9 lakhs & highest is 19 lakhs.

5) JUIT(Jaypee University of Information Technology) located in Solan,Himachal Pradesh offers B.Tech. degree in Computer, Electronics, Civil, and Biotechnology branches.One needs to get rank below 2 lakh for admission. Companies offer 5 lakhs as average with highest being 20 lakhs,those which visit JIIT also visit here.

6) AIT(Army Institute of Technology) Pune offers B.Tech. programmes in Computer,IT, Electronics, and Mechanical engineering based on JEE main scores where one needs to score minimum 100 marks for entry. The average package is 5 & highest 16 lakhs.

7) CVRCE(C V Raman college of Engineering) Odisha admits students based on JEE mains score. No cut off marks is declared by college.Companies like Infosys,Wipro,CTS, Canara bank offer 4 lakhs as average package.

8) DA-IICT(Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology) located in Gandhinagar Gujarat take admissions to B.Tech. programmes based on JEE main scores,they take into account AIR of JEE,below 14000 will get admission. Companies like Google,Amazon,Grofers visit the campus & average offers is 9 lakhs & highest is 30 lakhs.

9)G.H.Raisoni college of Engineering Nagpur also offers admission on the basis of JEE main score. It has 7 different departments like Computer, IT, Electrical,Electronics, Mechanical and Civil. Here students can expect average of 3-4 lakhs.

10) GCET(Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology) located in Greater Noida offers B.Tech. programme in 8 different disciplines. One needs to appear for JEE to get here, no cut off is mentioned. 3-4 lakhs is the average package here.

(11) ,(12),(13),(14),(15) Here I would mention the names of 5 private engg colleges located in Kolkata namely HIT(Heritage Instt of Technology), IEM(Institute of Engineering and Management), Haldia Instt of Technology, Dr. B.C.Roy Engg college and Narula instt of Technology where one gets to study Computer, Electrical,Electronics,IT, Mechanical,Civil, Production, Biotechnology streams. For all the 5 colleges I would say no cut off marks or rank is given by college, it is decided during the counselling on basis of JEE rank. All service based companies visit them,average offered is 4 lakhs.

16)GITA(Gandhi Institute for Technological Advancement) Bhubaneswar takes admission in 5 courses namely Computer,Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical and Civil by using JEE main results. There is no cut off rank or marks, which is decided during counselling. Companies visit offering an average of 3-4 lakhs.

17) Graphic Era University Dehradun admits students in 7 engineering courses namely Computer, Electrical, Electronics, Civil, IT, Petroleum and Biotechnology.One gets admission on the basis of JEE main rank, no cut off rank is there & regarding placements major companies like Infosys, TCS, CTS, Amazon visit here offering 4 lakhs as average.

18)Nirma University Gujarat takes JEE main scores into account while taking admission to its 8 B.Tech. courses. Min. 130 marks is needed for admission and almost all major companies recruit offering 4-5 lakhs.

19) MIT college of Engg Pune gives admission to 8 B.Tech. courses based on JEE main scores. No cut off is mentioned, you can consider average package as 4 lakhs.

20) RCOEM (Ramdeobaba College of Engg and Management) located in Nagpur has 9 different streams of engg to offer to students based on their JEE main scores, which should be around 100 for a safe bet. Regarding college placements all major companies visit here offering an average of 4-5 lakhs.
