Hello,
Kindly tell all the details such as the state from where you belong,your marks in the entrance,city..etc.
There are many polytechnics,so which are you targeting.
And let me tell you that,with a rank of 6k it is not possible for you to get admission in branches like civil,mechanical...etc.
You can get other low branches at polytechnic.
So attend the couselling,try for different collges.
