for mechanical engineer you need a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. the basic education available in our country is btech in mechanical engineering.

as you know that every engineer comes from the btech background in that stream. some people choose iti and some trade. 

so to be an engineer you need a bachelor degree in that stream.
