Ragging mostly used to happen in Medical and Engineering colleges but now it is a thing of the past due to strict implementation of Anti- Ragging laws in almost all types of colleges. So you need not worry now.
Some of the states have legislation on ragging and for other states the central legislation for ragging is implemented.
For prevention of ragging at the institution level these legislation lays down the steps an institution has to follow during the admission and registration process. A student during the admission process has to file an affidavit along with his parents/guardian’s signature, stating that he will not be ragging other students directly or indirectly. Also, the institution has to publish the names and contact numbers of Anti-ragging committee of the university.
And therefore this ensures that cessation of ragging in colleges.
