Gandhi Medical College Bhopal (GMC Bhopal) is one of the Oldest Government Medical Colleges in Madhya Pradesh. It was founded in 1955 by the state Govt. of Madhya Pradesh. It is affiliated with Barkatullah University and approved by the Nation Medical Commission (NMC). GMC Bhopal offers quality medical programs under the supervision of highly qualified faculty. The College is famous for its undergraduate medical programs (MBBS).

According to various reports on GMC Bhopal, Ragging is one of the problem in the University. A MBBS first year student of GMC complained against four second-year students of allegedly harassing and beating him in the first complaint while the UGC denied accepting the enquiry report of a dean of BU in other case of the ragging. But afterwards a strict action were taken against all who were found guilty.

So don't worry, numerous action were taken by the college to stop ragging like:

• Ragging is strictly prohibited and is a punishable crime by law. Ragging is taken seriously by the Media, Government and Human Rights Commission. Any student found involved in ragging will be removed from the college rolls.
• Students found guilty of misconduct, indiscipline, and absence would be liable to disciplinary action including Expulsion from the College by the Dean and Cancellation of Seat Registration by the University.
• Misbehavior :  Fights between students for personal reasons will result in their suspension for a period of 6 months, making them unable to qualify for University exams.
