Hello,
Did you mean IAS Interview, if yes then unfortunately you will not get any post in UPSC exam, interview is crucial and what most the aspirants fail to realize is that it's not a matter of knowledge test, the knowledge test is already done with prelims and mains, interview or personality test as it's called it's to gauge your abilities, potential to be an able administrator, your viewpoints count, how you'll handle a particular situation and your attitude towards all the existing dilemmas in society, securing a rank in upsc exams depends on passing prelims and mains as well qualifying interview, though few years back there was a proposal made by upsc chairman that candidates who couldn't qualify the exam only because of interview, they should be given chances in other government organizations/agencies or public sector undertakings as well, a few of the organizations too have mentioned about this specific criteria for their few posts, but this is not fully implemented as such on a wider scale, if it does it will be indeed a great effort as preparation for UPSC is one of the most tiring experience, because of such extensive syllabus, and anyone who prepares for this exam, they undoubtedly gain a lot of expertise because they have read so much, and this is something that can be well used by government in terms of providing them opportunities in various others fields.
I think you are asking about the UPSC CSE personality test or the interview round. So if you fail in the IAS interview round then you will have to sit again for the UPSC CSE next year again for prelims and have to qualify prelims for Mains and t qualify Mains for the Interview.
