Hello,
According to the latest Bar Council of India (BCI) rules, students pursuing a regular LLB degree are not permitted to enroll in any other regular degree programs simultaneously.
However, you can pursue an additional degree, such as an MA, through distance education or private mode .
The BCI guidelines ensure that law students focus on their LLB program without the distraction of another regular course.
So, yes, while pursuing an LLB in regular mode, you can pursue an MA through private or distance mode without violating BCI regulations.
Hope it helps !
Hello there,
As per the new rules of the Bar Council of India (BCI) , it is possible to pursue LLB in regular mode while pursuing another degree like MA in private mode or through distance education. The BCI has now relaxed the earlier restriction, which prohibited students from pursuing two courses simultaneously. However, the key factor here is that one of the degrees (in your case, MA) must be done through a distance learning or private mode to avoid any clash in academic schedules.
This rule helps students to enhance their academic qualifications without compromising their law studies. You should also check the specific university regulations, as some may have their own policies regarding simultaneous degrees.
I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.
Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.
According to the latest Bar Council of India (BCI) rules, students are not allowed to pursue two regular degrees simultaneously. However, you can pursue one regular and one distance education or private degree at the same time. Therefore, you can do an LLB in regular mode while pursuing an MA in private mode. It is important to confirm this with your university’s specific regulations as well.
Hope this helps you
The UGC and BCI allows students to pursue two academic programs at the same time, as long as one is in full-time physical mode in which you should do LLB as it is a professional course and the other is in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) or online mode but you can never show both the degrees together anywhere.
distance learning, university like IGNOU or Kurukshetra university provides such facility to do both courses together you should check before taking admission anywhere.it is difficult to pursue both courses together so think before taking admission both needs time and effort you should give 100 percent to your master degree for future benefits.
As an alternative you can do B.Com LLB, BA LLB, B.Sc LLB, and B.Tech LLB. After doing BA LLB, practicing law is a common career path.
