Last year my friend got about 50-60 marks in board(GSEB) in PCM and in the GUJCET exam he got only 30 marks and his ACPC rank was 20,000..

DA-IICT is one of the most aspired college by students and noone can get it easily. You need a very high rank for admission in DA-IICT.
In GUJCET 2019 merit list, 60% of weightage will be given to percentile marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and 40% weightage to the percentile marks obtained in the entrance exam. We can't provide you with the exact details because all depends on the cutoff and number of aspirants, but on an estimate, you need ACPC rank under 250 for DAIICT. On a rough estimate t o get admission in DAIICT you have to score Almost 100 marks in GUJCET and 85% in boards'.

You can check the rank for ST catagory, the closing rank was around 30,000....
And with only average marks like 50-60 in boards and 30-40 in GUJCET with this any one will have around 20,000 rank...
So that is quite confusing to get admission in best institute with average marks...
Plz explain if I've any misunderstanding...
