Students who have a diploma in mechanical engineering are eligible for the B.Tech Lateral Entry programme. The 3-year, 6-semester Lateral Entry in Mechanical Engineering programme is intended for Mechanical Engineering diploma holders.

Given that they have completed the first year of the diploma programme, this programme allows diploma holders admittance immediately into the second year of the curriculum. The diploma holders who want to upgrade to a B.Tech degree will benefit greatly from this course.

The following are the requirements for eligibility for later entry into mechanical engineering:-

• After completing grade 10, candidates with an engineering diploma in mechanical engineering may apply for a B. Tech. lateral entry programme.
• After completing high school, candidates with mechanical engineering diplomas may also apply for mechanical engineering B. Tech. lateral entry.
