Hi soumen Lateral entry in B. Tech can be defined as the direct entry of a student into the second year of engineering (third semester), after completing diploma in engineering or bachelors of science in physics or mathematics. The course duration is of 6 semesters (3 Years). B.Tech lateral entry admission is possible only after you have successfully completed Your Diploma in engineering or have studied bachelor of Science (Bsc. Mathematics) after class 12th (10+2).

A lateral entry student is the one who directly enters into the second year of his engineering. He/she must have completed a diploma in their respective branch to be eligible for the lateral entry program. After completing their diploma, they write a special examination for enrollment in the institute.
