See, there are various national and state level lateral entry examinations that are conducted  for admission into 2nd year of engineering degree in respective colleges.Please mention the name of the college about which  yo want to know and i will let you know whether it provides lateral entry or not.

IITs and NITs do not offers Lateral Entry provision. While most of the private colleges offers this provision.
