Lateral entry is there in VIT . If yes what is the criteria .

There are plenty of colleges which offer lateral entry in India But not possible in VIT , I dont remember when there was lateral entry last time in Vit ..! Very similar to Vit one college SRM do offer lateral entry so you can try ur luck der..! You need to apply because they also offer very less seats and SRM is also follow the same pattern for studys so you keep one good options der

There is a lot of factors to be considered while getting a seat in any of the institution. I would suggest you to set your priorities first as in which college, campus , branch you would like to spend your next 4 yrs. Kindly contact for more details regarding the srm rank and seat status.

VIT offers admissions in Engineering courses through Direct Entry in Second Year Programme. You must be eligible to take admission in lateral entry process with these:



1. Candidate should have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology with at least 45% marks from approved college by AICTE.



2. Candidateshould be Indian.







For admissions, you need to appear for Exam conducted by VIT for lateral entry programme. Then you are eligible to take admission in VIT colleges.

1 The Candidate should be an Indian National



(ii) Passed Diploma Course in Engineering and Technology with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) in appropriate branch of Engineering and Technology from an All India Council for Technical Education or Central or State Government approved Institution or its equivalent

Following are the criteria::



*Direct 2 Year (Lateral Entry)



Passed Diploma Course in Engineering and Technology with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) in appropriate branch of Engineering and Technology from an All India Council for Technical Education or Central or State Government approved Institution or its equivalent



OR



Passed B.Sc. Degree from a University Grants Commission (UGC) or Association of Indian Universities recognized University with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) and passed HSC with Mathematics as a subject provided that students belonging to this category shall clear the subjects of Engineering Graphics/ Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year Engineering Program along with second year subjects.

Yes VIT entertain lateral entry admission .

For exact criteria please mention COURSE  one entrance exam will be common for both Full time admission as well as lateral entry .
