Let A be a set having 16 elements. A subset P of A is selected randomly. Set A is reframed by replacing the elements of P, then another subset Q of A is randomly selected, then the probablity of a) P union Q contains exactly 8 elements. b) P intersection Q contains exactly 4 elements.

Hello candidate,

The other subset Q of A is randomly selected, then the probablity of combination is equal to 1 by 2.

a) P union Q contains exactly 8 elements out of a total of 32 elements which equals to 1/4.

b) P intersection Q contains exactly 4 elements, then the probability is equal to 1/8.

Sorry, u r wrong. the ans. is quite different that u have given. Ans. is a) (16C8*3^8)/4^16 & b) (16C4*3^12)/4^16
